Source: Unknown newspaper - The obituary is from a collection by Fauniel Hershberger, saved the 1950's, 60's and 70's. She was a life long resident of Fountain County Indiana.  The collection is now housed at Crawfordsville District Public Library.

-- Mrs. Anna E. HANIFORD, 72, Newtown, died at her home there at 7:30 Wednesday night Nov 4, after an extended illness. She suffered a stroke of paralysis on Dec 17, 1941 and has been in serious condition for the past two weeks. Mrs. Haniford was born at Cresent City Ill June 19, 1870 the daughter of Absalom & Phoebe Funk and moved to Davis Twp, Fountain County in childhood. On July 1, 1890 she was married to Edward Haniford and they resided in Davis Township until 25 years ago when they moved to Newtown. She was a member of the free Methodist Church. Survivors include the husband; two sons, Joe of Hillsboro and Eldwon of Newton; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Jones and Ms. Essie Chester both of Newtown; 10 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Amy Allenduff Hoopeston Ill; and one brother, Marion Funk of Attica. Funeral services were held from the Newtown Methodist Church, Sunday afternoon at 3 o'clock with the pastor the Rev. RS Gwin, officiating and burial in Salem Cemetery. - ?

Newtown, Nov 5 – Mrs. Annie (Funk) Haniford, 72, wife of Edward Haniford, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday after suffering a stroke.  Born at Crescent City, Ill, she was married July 1, 1890 and the family moved here 25 years ago. She was a member of the Free Methodist Church.  Surviving are the husband; four children, Mrs. Mary Jones of Newtown and Joe of Hillsboro; a brother, Marion Fund, Hillsb oro and sister, Mrs. Amy Allenduff, Hoopston, Ill.  Body at DeSutter funeral home, Attica.  Services Sunday at 3 in Newtown Methodist Church, Rev. EW Gwinn officiating.  Burial Salem Cemetery. - kz

Attica, Nov 4 – Funeral services for Mrs. Nellie Annette Brown will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. from the family residence near Winthrop; burial in Williamsport cemetery. The DeSutter Funeral Home will be in charge.
